Dr Jagavkar graduated with honours from the University of NSW in 1992 and was awarded the Fellowship of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 2000. He was a Clinical Fellow at St George Hospital before undertaking further subspecialty training in brachytherapy at the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in California and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

He has a broad oncological practice with specific interest in Prostate Brachytherapy, breast, and head and neck malignancies. He is a leading member of the St Vincent's prostate brachytherapy program for both temporary and permanent implants and is a founding member of the St Vincent's Prostate Institute. This unit is now a world leader in the field of prostate brachytherapy. He is also an active member of several national and international oncological societies.

Dr Jagavkar was appointed as a Staff Specialist at St Vincent's Hospital in 2001 and has since become the Director of Radiation Oncology at St Vincent's Hospital. He is also the Vice President of both St Vincent's Private Hospital and Jean Colvin Private Hospital Medical Councils.
 

Michael A. Izard

Dr Michael Izard began his medical career at The Middlesex Hospital in London. Moving to Australia he practised in rural areas prior to training in radiation oncology at Sydney’s St Vincent’s and Westmead Hospital.
Following the award of his Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, he subsequently worked as a Research Fellow at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada, prior to moving back to Australia to join the team at the Mater Hospital in 1994.
Dr Izard consults at a number of Sydney hospitals and is actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and post-graduate level. He has a role with the University of Sydney Northern Clinical School as Clinical Senior Lecturer. His special interests include prostate cancer and breast cancer, with a particular interest in brachytherapy, and he is active in Multidisciplinary meetings in these and other areas. He has been published in international journals, including his prostate brachytherapy results. He is involved in Country Clinics, currently at Tamworth and Armidale.
He has had community roles as the Faculty of Radiation Oncology of NSW delegate for the (ministerial) Radiation Advisory Committee of the Department of Environment and Conservation (formerly the EPA) from 2000 to 2006. He has been involved with ARPANSA, (the Federal Radiation Advisory Agency) and was involved in co-authoring the Radiation Code of Practice and the associated Radiation Safety Guide, published in December 2008. He has been invited onto, and involved with committees with the NSW Department of Health for radiotherapy issues. He currently sits on the NSW Board of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, and previously sat with the Executive Committee of the Australasian Society of Breast Diseases.
Outside his clinical work, he has an interest in the peripheral areas of Medicine and has a Masters in Medical Humanities which permitted a wider understanding of the topic. He has a love of Dante Alighieri as a result. He has two small children and with his wife is enjoying their growth and development.

 

Stephen Cooper

Dr Cooper graduated with honours from the University of Sydney in 1986. He undertook specialist training in Radiation Oncology completing the DRACR in 1993 and became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists later that year.

Dr Cooper was appointed to St Vincent’s General Hospital as a Staff Specialist Radiation Oncologist in 1994.

In 2002, he relocated to Wagga Wagga to establish the Riverina Cancer Care Centre as its inaugural Medical Director and Radiation Oncologist. In 2004 Dr Cooper returned to the St Vincent’s and Mater Health Radiation Oncology service where he chairs the multi-disciplinary head and neck unit. His special areas of interest include head and neck, and breast cancer.
 

Gerald Fogarty

BSc MB. BS., (Hons), FRANZCR

Dr Fogarty completed a combined Science\Medicine degree at the University of NSW.

He is a consultant radiation oncologist who works at St Vincent’s and Mater Sydney Hospitals. He has sub special interests in prostate and skin malignancies. 

Dr Fogarty trained at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Australia’s largest cancer centre, and is a member of the Sydney Melanoma Unit. He has over 21 first author publications and is the principal investigator for an NH & MRC International Phase III Trial in melanoma. 

He is the Director of the Mater Radiotherapy Centre and attends multidisciplinary clinics for cancers arising from skin, head and neck, CNS, urological and lung tissues. He is an expert in prostate brachytherapy.

 

Rebecca Chin

Dr Rebecca Chin graduated from the University of NSW in 1984 and undertook specialist training at the Prince of Wales/Prince Henry group of hospitals. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 1992 prior to becoming research fellow at the Prince of Wales hospital.

In 1992, Dr Chin joined the Mater practice at North Sydney and has become an active member of the Genito-Urinary Oncology Group, the NSW Co-operative Oncology Group and the Australian Brachytherapy Group.

Her special interests include lung cancer, breast cancer and gynaecological cancer. Dr Chin regularly consults in New Caledonia. She holds consultant appointments at a number of Sydney hospitals and regularly consults to the multidisciplinary breast clinic at Strathfield Private Hospital.

Martin Berry

MBBS FRANZCR FRCPC

 
Associate Professor Martin Berry graduated MBBS from the University of Sydney and gained specialty qualifications in radiation oncology from Australia, Canada and the USA.  Martin is Director of Cancer Services for Genesis Care at Macquarie University Hospital.  He has an academic appointment with the Australian School of Advanced Medicine and holds the inaugural Genesis Care Chair in Radiation Oncology.  Martin has longstanding commitment to professional education and is the Chief Censor (Examiner) for the Faculty of Radiation Oncology and Chair of the Education Board.   Over his career Martin has contributed his expertise to many state, national and international forums. 
 
Martin’s clinical subspecialty is treating urological cancers.  He is active in research to improve services for patients and developing tools and processes that support men in their treatment choices for prostate cancer.
