GenesisCare is Australia’s leading provider of radiation oncology, cardiology and sleep treatments.
We exist to fill the treatment gap for the biggest disease burdens in Australia - cancer and heart care - in an environment of substantial unmet demand from an ageing population.
We boost access and timeliness of consultations and treatment. Our extensive national reach also means we are uniquely placed to improve information, reduce fragmentation and drive better treatment outcomes. We are an early adopter of technology and work with industry, universities and government.
We drive innovation, undertaking research into heart disease, the leading cause of death in Australia and cancer, which affects one in two Australians at some stage in their lives. In late 2010 we expanded into treating sleep disorders to provide better patient care with an estimated one in five Australian adults affected and obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) identified as a co-morbidity in some 30% of cardiology patients.
GenesisCare sponsors the Chair of Radiotherapy at Macquarie University Hospital, providing the best cancer care in Australia including the first-in-country Gamma Knife non-invasive radiation beam surgery. In addition to our national cardiology network of metropolitan and regional clinics, we have a track record developing comprehensive cancer centres, including the largest privately operated centre in the Southern Hemisphere in Adelaide and in Western Australia we have been awarded contracts for the provision of cancer treatment services at three public hospitals.
In early 2013 we launched the first integrated state-of-the-art regional healthcare facility combining cancer, heart and sleep treatments. Shenton House, in Perth, is licensed as a Day Hospital by the Health Department, with GenesisCare the only approved provider for a specialist medical centre in an area of need, in Joondalup, introducing treatment options not currently available in WA.
