Genesis Cancer Care New South Wales was originally established as Radiation Oncology Associates at the St Vincent's Clinic in 1990. Subsequent growth led to an expansion in facilities and we now comprise major cancer facilities in five locations across NSW.
Following our first clinic at Sydney's St Vincent's, we opened at The Mater Private Hospital (lower North Shore). This Pioneered clinical implementation of Dynamic IMRT in Australia with Varian RapidArc therapy and was the first integrated Brachytherapy unit in the Southern Hemisphere.
A third facility at Macquarie University Hospital opened in 2010, offering state of the art facilities, including Australia's first Gamma Knife.
Genesis Cancer Care Newcastle opened at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital in January 2014; providing much needed access for people in Newcastle and the Hunter regions, and our most recent site, Genesis CancerCare Hurstville followed in November 2014 providing similar access for the southern parts of NSW.
We now employ more than 100 medical professionals and support staff in New South Wales and plan to employ and train many additional high-end medical, clinical and nursing professionals across the state in the next five years.
